About me
Hey there!! So I believe this is the part where I tell you a little about myself.
My full name is Mitchell Scott Hewer and I was born in the UK on July 1st 1989, in a city called Bristol. It's rather nice, you should visit. Growing up I guess i was like most boys, I just wanted to play football. It was all I ever thought about and did, until one day when I was around 10/11 years old, a very nice gentleman came into my last year of primary school with tap shoes on and his name was Melvyn Wingfield. From the very first moment of putting a pair on (tap shoes that is), I couldn't resist the feeling of finally knowing what I was meant to do in life. After just one session I was hooked! I stopped playing football and my life revolved around dancing. Of course I lost all my friends in the process as it wasn't seen as "cool" or the "normal" thing for a boy to do. But I didn't care. Who wants to be normal, right? Isn't being completely ourselves the true meaning of happiness. Well that’s what I believe and that’s what I followed. Dancing made me happy and no one was going to stop me doing it! When I turned 16 school had ended and I was still dancing away. I decided to study musical theatre. Over the years Gene Kelly became my idol. I wanted to dance next to him, learn from him, not be him (as being who we are is our best quality) |
but he was my favourite! I dreamt of going to a theatre school in London and being around all the West End shows, but staying and studying in Bristol was probably the best thing I could have done. I studied musical theatre at a place called South West Academy of Dramatic Arts, SWADA for short. In the middle of my first year of being there a casting director came to my college named Jane Ripley. Who was looking for young people for roles in a program called SKINS for E4/Channel 4. I didn't want to be an actor, that was the last thing on my mind, to me that was scarier than waking up with a spider on my face! After all dancing was my passion, it had been my life for the past 6 years. Jane wanted me to read for the show but all I wanted was her number ha! I was only 16. She kept on at me to come, so eventually I caved and I went to my first ever audition, which was an acting one!! Not what I had in mind!! After the first audition I started to get recalls for one of the roles, it was all so new to me so I just went along with it. After a few more recalls I booked the role of MAXXIE OLIVER. I couldn't believe it!! I filmed two series of SKINS and I have to say, they were two of the best years of my life. Filming SKINS was just incredible and it had opened me up to a whole new journey in my life.
Acting had become my passion. I next went on to a series called BRITANNIA HIGH which showed on ITV1. I played the role of DANNY MILLER. I couldn't believe my luck with this job, it was musical theatre on screen! After finishing I made the huge decision to move to L.A, I was only 19. I signed with a manager out there and almost straight away I was in the middle of big pond. The end of that year I came home to be in a musical in London called NEVER FORGET which is a tribute to the band TakeThat. It was such an amazing experience. I traveled back to L.A. and after a lot of auditions and hard work I booked my first job out there. A FILM! My first film! called NIGHTLIGHT which I played the role of BEN. We shot it in the canyons of Salt Lake City in Utah. NIGHTLIGHT is among the most epic times of my life! BEHAVING BADLY was my next film I booked. Filming in L.A., which was now my home. I played the role of Steven Stevens where I was surround by incredible talent.
I'm in England now on a new adventure (of course I'm still acting). What is it you say? I’ve started a Youtube channel and having an unbelievable amount of fun filming it! I'm so excited for what’s ahead and the new journeys that are to come.
